The hermitage cell of St Sava represents the cave complex built on the cliffs of the mountain of Rodocelo. While building, the caves were dented, and the cells were built, and monks live there even now, although St Sava himself spent some time in these cells.
There is no precise information about the period of building this sacral object. According to the legend the cell was built by the servant of Stefan Nemanja (Serbian ruler), while his master was building the Studenica monastery (1183-1195). Next to the cell there is the church Pridvorica, dedicated to St George, built in 1175.
The cell is located above the road Usce-Ivanjica, 12 km far from the Studenica monastery. On the 6 km from the monastery, turn right from the main road, and farther the pedestrian road goes on which is marked with signs indicating the cell.
