With a tradition of nearly two centuries, kafana "?" is the oldest restaurant in Serbia, founded 1823rd year, wich is locatet in the very old part of Belgrade - Kosancićev venac.
Restaurant "?" is situated in the heart of Belgrade. With the atmosphere and charm that make it a cult Serbian bohemian gathering place, the restaurant offers specialties of national cuisine and premium drinks which no one can resist.
Firstly, kafana was known as "Ećin Tomina", than "At the shepherd" (1878). Because of the sharp opposition of the church authorities, to be appointed by the name "Cafe near the Cathedral" - in 1892. owner put a sign "?" as temporary solution, standing instead of name. This name is held to this day.
The cafe in 1830-1831 was ussualy droped by Vuk Karadzic, in 1834. the first billiard table in Belgrade was intodused in this kafana and the same year was the first "Serbian newspapers" spot. After World War II cafe is due to the proximity of the Academy of Applied Arts has hosted students and teachers , and is said to have laid there and exams.
Today, "?" is a must see point in Belgrade for every visitor where they can listen the stories of old Belgrade and past times, have a coffee and enjoy the magic of creative traditional Serbian cuisine and music players.
