Itinerary:

8h - Departure from the parking lot of Sava Centar in Belgrade.

10:30h - Arrival in Despotovac, the city of despot Stefan Lazarević, which is today the center of the Upper Resava region. This whole area is ideal for travellers who are looking to take a break from the city noise and enjoy the beautiful natural landscapes.

Manasija Monastery tour - The Manasija monastery is one of the most significant monuments of the Serbian medieval culture. It is an endowment of despot Stefan Lazarević and it was built between the years of 1407 and 1418.

Manasija Monastery

12h - The Miniature Park is a unique attraction, where you’ll find faithful miniature replicas of Serbian medieval monasteries in the scale of 1:17.

The Miniature Park

13h - The Resava cave, one of the most beautiful natural treasures of Serbia, is 4.5 km long. However, only 2,830 meters of the cave have been researched, and visitors can go as much as 800 meters deep into it. Resava is one of the oldest caves in the country (around 80 million years old). The temperature in it is constantly around 7°C, while the air humidity varies from 80 to 100%. The interior of the cave has numerous and varied halls, canals, galleries, columns, stalactites, stalagmites, draperies and petrified waterfalls. Because of its wealth and varied colors, the Resava Cave was awarded the epithet  “beauty from Resava”.

Resava Cave

14:30h - In Lisine, the 25-meter high Velikovrelo waterfall, Serbia’s most visited waterfall, was long considered the highest waterfall in the country, until they discovered the waterfalls on Stara Planina and Kopaonik.

Lisine Waterfall

17h - The Krupaj springs are one of the natural rarities and features of this region. With its unique beauty, these springs form a lake on its surface and irresistibly lure to the realm of forests, water and fresh mountain air. The healing thermal spring water mixed with the cold spring water from the Krupaj springs, complete the picture of this mythical landscape. Close by is a strong thermal spring with water temperature of 26.50C, and is protected as a natural monument of national importance. Researches of this spring have so far reached a depth of 123 meters.

19h - Zdrelo Spa - a unique wellness center in Serbia that works all year long. It is a water park that offers day and night bathing in warm and thermal waters with temperature from 30 to 40 degrees. The complex has 6 pools with both warm and cold water (2 indoor and 4 outdoor).

Cori Nna

My name is Cori, I am from Germany and I’m doing an internship in Belgrade for in total 6 weeks. This means not a lot time to explore Serbia. But thanks to Serbia 4 Youth you get the chance to see a lot within a short period. I had to wake up at 7 a.m. in the morning to join the trip “Treasures of the Resava” and if you get the chance you should do the same. It is absolutely impressive how many beautiful locations outside of Belgrade you can see during one sunny saturday with Serbia 4 Youth. It is hard to tell what I liked the most. What would you choose when you have to decide between seeing a monastery built in the 15th century, going deep into a cave with huge stalactites and stalagmites, visiting beautiful nature sceneries like the Krupaj springs with their intense blue water or relaxing in a Spa with hot outdoor pools? Yes, you would probably also like to see all those places and would love everything! Same for me ;D The trip was a very good opportunity for me to see the countryside of Serbia and another advice for foreigners: If you like to listen to Serbian folk music join the trip! Sitting in a minibus and driving from one location to another is apparently always a good opportunity for Serbian people to use their beautiful voices for singing nice songs. Amazing! ;)

Hello, my name is Luana. I am brazilian and I’m doing an internship in Belgrade for in total 6 months. The main tendency of foreigners, when they are visiting an unknown country, is go to "tourist destinations" in accordance with the comercial guides, to know the same places that most people, that is, sometimes can be boring and disappointing. Once, a traveler good friend told me: "Please when you go to Serbia, explore the best of that country and its beauties. Of course, you need to know the main tourist places, but open your mind for different and unusual experiences and you will see how is more exciting" So, I thought: "ok, I agree. But, how? If I am just a lost foreigner in an unknown land?" Then, I had fortunately to meet some members of "Serbia4Youth" in my first week here who show me this organization with your several trips and I decided to check it. I ventured in this trip “Treasures of the Resava”. It was amazing! If you get the chance you should do the same. Old monastery, history, interesting cave, beautiful nature sceneries, waterfalls, countryside of Serbia and a relaxing Spa for recharge the energies in the end of the day. More than this, you can learn more about of serbian culture, exchanging experiences with the people group inside the bus for the whole journey, believe, the serbians are friendly and very open. It was an awesome experience for me and I needed to share here. Therefore, If you are an adventure person and wants to really discover the natural wonders of Serbia you are in the correct website. This is my advice!
